Saturday 2 August | LONDON Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden
Sunday 3 August | SNAPE Proms
One of the hits of last year’s Womad was Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino (CGS), the sensational Italian dance band who turn the tarantella inside out – their record was chosen in The Guardian by Robin Denselow as one of the Top 5 Albums of 2013. You may have heard their leader Mauro Durante playing violin with Ludovico Einaudi – matched with wild bagpipes, accordions, dancers and massed harmonies, they’re an amazing live spectacle. As well as a special outdoor show up on the roof of the Southbank Centre — there are only 250 tickets, so move fast! — they’ll be playing Snape Proms the next day, and we will be announcing Irish dates soon.
